“The anti-Christ spirit is manifesting,” said a Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) insider to MHProNews as part of a longer thread of messages on a range of topics. Some of those issues discussed are explored below in this Sunday’s weekly headlines in review.
Candidly, that MHI source does not normally raise any mention of religion with respect to topics about the industry or broader social, political, or economic topics – either privately or publicly.
That said, the somewhat surprising comment nevertheless fits the industry and national matters being discussed. That notion of “The anti-Christ spirit is manifesting,” may seem to some as being far removed from our profession. But the case can be made that the professional who made that observation was quite wise to make that connection. Much of what follows in our headlines in review this week, indirectly underscores that periodic tipster’s important point. Sadly, the “anti-Christ spirit is manifesting.”
For thinkers, that comment inspires or ‘begs’ several possible questions. Another comment from that same source will be noted further below. But first, this “anti-Christ spirit” merits unpacking.
Among the questions is the obvious one. Is the spirit of anti-Christ actually rising, on the loose, or “manifesting” in our day? That is a fair – indeed, intelligent and pressing – topic meriting its own inquiry.
To be objective, one might wonder, isn’t that spirit always at work? The case can be made that since near the beginning of time ‘the spirit of anti-Christ,’ even centuries before Jesus Christ was born. Say what? Yes, you read that correctly. Let’s see how.
It is not always explicitly in Scripture, but that spirit of anti-Christ is implied in several passages’ centuries prior to, during, and following the time of Jesus. For one instance, among the Hebrew prophets or Christian Old Testament is this, per the secular and left-leaning Wikipedia. “In the Latin Vulgate, Jeremiah laments that the people of Israel speak “non serviam” to express their rejection of God (Jeremiah 2:20).”
More plainly, the ancients inside and outside of the Hebrew or Christian Bible believed that God revealed to the angels that there would be a “fall” of originally sinless humanity into sin. When that was revealed to the heavenly hosts of angels, and that God would provide a Messiah or savior – the Creator’s own co-eternal Son – that is when the spirit of anti-Christ began.
Lucifer – also known as Satan – was one of the most powerful of God’s angels. Lucifer – once an angel of light in heaven became by his own choice the Devil. He did so by rejecting the notion that God would take the form of man, be born, live, suffer, die, and rise as part of the Eternal plan for salvation of a not-yet-created humanity.
To that plan which God revealed to the angels before the human race came to be, Lucifer infamously responded, “Non serviam!” which in English means “I will not serve!” It was a rebellion, with the claim by acclaimed author John Milton that it was “Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav’n.” Considering that heaven and hell are both eternal, that’s a dubious thought at best, but that was the decision that Satan made.
The site Bible Study Tools relates several Biblical references to this devilish “non serviam” theme and the role that the devil plays in the problems of society and the world. Among them are these Biblical references, which is a point to Satan, his devilish minions, and their role in stirring up trouble in the world – then or now: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:12 (NIV).
Lucifer or Satan is also the topic in these Old Testament passages, long before the time of Christ.
- “16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So, I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.” – Ezekiel 28:16-17 (NIV)
- “12How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.” – Isaiah 14:12-15 (NIV).
With that backdrop, is this timely email from the Rev. Emmanuel Akalue. A timely pull quote from his message below – that fits this theme – is this: “Unknown to many, this world is largely under the influence and dominion of Satan, in politics, cultural, ideology, the media and even in religion.”
If that seems a bit much, new readers should know and long time readers may benefit from this linked reminder above. Warren Buffett and his vice chairman at Berkshire Hathaway, Charlie Munger literally started their own church to spread their arguably anti-Christ beliefs. When pondering ‘long term planners’ Buffett, Munger, and Berkshire Hathaway, establishing their own church must be kept in mind. The fact that they pushed a ‘gospel’ quite at odds with Christian or even strict Jewish or Muslim beliefs is another relevant point worth mentioning.
Buffett, Munger, and others are pushing – by accident and/or design – several beliefs that line up far better with Satanic thinking that God’s clear teaching. They are not alone among billionaires pushing behavior at odds with traditional morality. There are numerous voices from a range of faith-traditions that push back against what they see as the anti-God or anti-Christ thinking and behavior of these billionaires and others like them. Let’s note that this is not to imply that being a billionaires is automatically a sign of moral evil. There are both moral and immoral paths to wealth, as the religious beliefs of billions of souls makes clear.
“Human pride, typical of the “Tower of Babel,” is pervasive in every aspect of our human society: people are basically dispensing with God and saying to themselves, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves” (Gen 11:4).” said Akalue’s reflections. That too is a theme that MHProNews explored, quite apart from this pastor’s thinking, in the report linked below.
With that predicate, this from Akalue’s message – “We need a U-Turn.” Note: there is one typo corrected below, that clarifies a point he was making.
“On this First Sunday of Lent, we share this message from our Gospel Passage (Mark 1:12-15), “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Beloved, Christ is inviting us to receive salvation. This is the time of fulfilment; the providential time of mercy and the Lord’s favor (cf. Isa 49:8; 2Cor 6:2; Luke 4:18-19); the time for “the manifestation and the realization of God’s plan of salvation in all its fullness” (St. John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 15). Thus, we should not miss the opportunity the Lenten Season provides us to achieve repentance, believe the Gospel, and receive mercy and salvation.
In His Lenten discipline, Christ underwent a desert experience: “The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert… [to be tempted by Satan…. [and] He was among wild beasts” – the wild beats of our hostile political, cultural, ideological climate; the wild beasts of our misguided thoughts, inordinate feelings and desires (cf. James 4:1-11). Christ confronted them, on our behalf, and prevailed. For instance, when He heard Herod had arrested John the Baptist, He began His ministry. He was not deterred by the fears of being arrested (cf. John 11:7-10). Our Lenten Season – lasting for about 40 days – mirrors Christ’s desert experience (cf. Luke 4:2), a fulfillment of the Old Times (cf. Exod 24:18; 34:28; Deut 9:9, 18). Like Jesus, we resolutely step into the spiritual battleground and confront the “demons” of spiritual life, our ‘fears’ and ‘anxieties.’ Through proper Lenten discipline, we receive spiritual strength to prevail over whatever the world throws at us. We should not be afraid to evangelize; we should not be silenced or shut down.
Beloved, to conquer the Devil, humility and obedience to God are indispensable. Hence, we always begin the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday. As a mark of repentance and humility before God (cf. Luke 13:1-5; Rev 2:5), we accept aches, acknowledging that only God who made us from dust can raise us up on the last day. So, it is not a mere ritual; it is endorsed in both the Old (cf. Gen 18:27; Dan 9:3; Jonah 3:6) and New Testaments. In the words of Christ, “Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes” (Matt 11:21).
Unknown to many, this world is largely under the influence and dominion of Satan, in politics, cultural, ideology, the media and even in religion. Unfortunately, every one of us is affected in some manner. Human pride, typical of the “Tower of Babel,” is pervasive in every aspect of our human society: people are basically dispensing with God and saying to themselves, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves” (Gen 11:4). Every one of us needs repentance. From the Greek, metanoia, repentance is about making a radical change in our lifestyles and orientation, a U-turn. We are to consciously review our thoughts, feelings and desires in order to achieve repentance from within (cf. Mark 7:21, 23): “Rend your hearts, not your garments” (Joel 2:13); “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander” (Matt 15:19). We need a U-turn.
On the whole, our First Reading (Gen 9:8-15) is a subtle warning, reminding us of how God wiped out almost all His first creation for insubordination, pride and disobedience. Consequently, we are called to receive and reciprocate God’s love. What do you think about whenever a rainbow appears? Diversity? LGBTQ? Well, please, always keep in mind, primarily, God’s definitive sign of the rainbow: “When… the bow appears in the clouds, I will recall the covenant I have made” – that never again shall there be a UNIVERSAL TSUNAMI to destroy the whole world. And, herein, a subtle typology is present. The RAINBOW signifies CHRIST (cf. John 3:16); namely, because of Christ, the “WATERS OF THE GREAT FLOOD OF SIN” will no longer destroy the people of God (cf. Isa 42:1, 5-7; cf. Luke 2:27-32; 4:18-19). As St. Peter declares, in our Second Reading (1Pet 3:18-22), concerning Noah’s time, “a few persons, eight in all, were saved through water…. this prefigured baptism, which saves you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” May God grant us a fruitful Lenten Season through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
That is a lot of deep thought, with plenty of Scriptural references to buttress it.
But entirely apparent from such spiritual reflections are the routinely secular sources cited by MHProNews. It is predominantly from those that the topics covered in this Sunday’s weekly review are found.
Do not miss today’s postscript, with one more pull quote from our MHI connected source and a video by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
With no further adieu, here are the headlines from the dates 2.14.2021 to 2.21.2021.

From our MHI-insider was this comment about one of the Children’s Health Defense (CHD) topics being raised by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“Great article. All true. Might put you in the crosshairs. It’s worth it the rabbit hole is fascinating and if there’s no freedom there’s no life.” ‘No freedom, no life.’ Ponder that, in conjunction with the same source’s comment that “The anti-Christ spirit is manifesting.” It was people of faith who worked to end slavery, who worked for the right of women and minorities to fully participate in our nation and so many others. It was people of faith who pushed for America’s independence from England’s king and their monopolists.
This next video is not the topic that the MHI insider was commenting on, that one is above. That noted, “Chasing Corporate Polluters and Protecting our Future” is useful and insightful for several reasons. Here are a few worth pondering.
- The political and cultural left-right divide in our nation is arguably an artificially fueled tension.
- While there may be a keenly different view of ‘climate change,’ the perspective on protecting the environment from “Corporate Polluters” does indeed “Protecting our Future.”
In that kind of environmental battle, along with RF Kennedy Jr’s fight to protect children in the U.S. and abroad from the ravages of illnesses and conditions that he passionately makes the case is often caused by billionaire corporate malfeasance. Unlike some, Kennedy names names, as in the report above his spotlighting Jeff Bezos and Buffett ally Bill Gates.
Kennedy’s efforts prove that the many can beat in several cases beat the moneyed powers. It also suggests that there is often more in common between the left and right than what many believe.
President Teddy Roosevelt was known as a trust buster. But as left-leaning Wikipedia aptly notes, “He [Roosevelt] vigorously promoted the conservation movement, emphasizing efficient use of natural resources. He dramatically expanded the system of national parks and national forests.”
The term ‘trust’ in this context means monopoly or monopoly power. That said, “Roosevelt earned a reputation as a “trust buster” through his regulatory reforms and antitrust prosecutions. … His “Square Deal” included regulation of railroad rates and pure foods and drugs; he saw it as a fair deal for both the average citizen and the businessmen,” said Wikipedia. Roosevelt was a motivated Christian.
To sum up, religious ideals should inspire our business and moral decisions. Failure to do so leads to a chaotic or problematic society.
In closing, let’s note that none of these past or present American figures was or are perfect. The ancient and wise principle of separating the wheat from the chaff should be routinely applied to all organizations, people, professions, and businesses. So, beyond God, MHProNews citing or quoting this or that person is never to be construed as a blanked endorsement of all that someone has done.
Programming Notice: there will be several special reports coming soon. Timing is always dependent on new topics that arise, but some of these spotlighting Buffett, Clayton, Tim Williams, and others may be as soon as this week. Stay tuned.
