What does “News Through the Lens of Manufactured Homes, and Factory Built Housing” mean?
Almost anything you can think of has some direct or indirect influence on manufactured homes (MH) and factory-built housing.
Two obvious examples. Tax cuts and regulatory reform are political and economic issues that touched the entire nation, but also touched manufactured, modular and prefab housing.
What about social trends?
Of course, that impacts manufactured housing too.
For example, if household formation – e.g.: marriages, are postponed until later in life, which is a trend in the U.S. – that impacts the business of anyone who is selling housing. That social trend also impacts everyone who is supplying or supporting those who are involved in housing.
In the run-up to the 2016 election, MHProNews went out on a limb by doing a lot of election-related coverage. MHLivingNews was very, very lightly involved in the race: you might have a hard time finding how MHLivingNews was involved, it was that light.
But you could find dozens of articles on MHProNews that were political news and analysis in 2016 – compared to zero or near zero -with almost anyone else in the industry’s trade media. That’s not a hit on others, or necessarily a boost for us. It is simply a fact.
When the Daily Business News or other MHProNews module spotlights some trend – like growing interest nationally in antitrust activity – that clearly has meaning for manufactured housing. But beyond MHProNews, who else dares touch that topic?
Political, economic, and social issues absolutely impact manufactured housing specifically and factory-built homes in general too.
That’s why news through the lens of factory built homes matters to you. But there’s more…
Big MH Companies, and All Others
Big companies often pay for the kind of research that MHProNews provides our readers day-by-day.
That’s why an industry executive said late last year, “Tony, If MHProNews is writing about it, I want to know about it.”
Before diving into the headlines of the week that was, let’s draw your attention to the Warren Buffett video interview. All our content is curated for relevance to the industry. So every story has meaning. But whatever you do in the industry, Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway are the proverbial ‘elephant in the room.’
Watch that under 3 minute Buffett video. Walk way, or do something else for a few minutes, and then watch it again. Make notes.
If you do, you may experience the ‘aha!’ moment that others have who follow and seek to learn from Buffett’s thinking. FYI, Buffett’s brands – our sources tell us – carefully follow MHProNews, as to operations of all sizes in the industry.
What’s New on MHLivingNews
There are several ways to learn about various types of affordable housing options. Affordable housing is huge and growing topic in the U.S., Canada, and in nations around the world. So MHLN decided to hold an affordable housing focus group. The focus group in this video are made up primarily of retirees.
What’s New on the Masthead
Not necessarily in this order of importance, but count us as true believers in: Manufactured Homes, America as a Constitutional Republic with free enterprise, and in the four F’s – Faith, Family, Flag, and Fortune (career). Count me as a pragmatist too.
