File Under “You Can’t Make This Up” – Wacky Wednesday Explores Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) Excellence Award-Winners and their Legal Challenges, plus MHMarkets Updates

Let’s be clear. There are fine firms involved in the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI). Then there are firms that are accused by their own customers and residents of being predatory, deceptive, or worse. So, this isn’t about throwing some ‘good apple’ because others have worms. A wormy apple might look fine on one side but turn it around and the worm hole becomes visible. That’s why on MHLivingNews we’ve said for years that consumers must do their homework. With that backdrop, the MHI Excellence and other award winners that ought to be a revealing to researchers, media, public officials, investors that want to work with white hat brands, etc. Because it is folly, hubris, or Wacky Wednesday at its finest to think that an MHI award winner is automatically some fine organization or professional. Sadly, some MHI award winners are begging for a satirical response. MHI Insiders have said that the organization uses the awards as a form of marketing and membership attraction or retention. In reviewing the following, ask yourself if you or your business would want to be associated with this type of behavior?

The following is just a partial list prior of current litigation, complaints, and investigations involving MHI award winners.  Can you see why a Democratic staffer told MHProNews that MHI has a reputation on Capitol Hill as being anti-consumer?

Yes! Communities

In an exclusive analysis on MHLivingNews of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’s merciless mocking, every brand featured in the video below happens to have obvious connections to MHI.

No one needs to mock MHI. A close look at their own behaviors are a target rich environment – as if they are mocking themselves.  ##

MHProNews has pioneered in our profession several reporting elements that keep our regular and attentive readers as arguably the best informed in the manufactured housing industry. Among the items shared after ‘every business day’ (when markets are open) is our left-right headline recap summary. At a glance in two to three minutes, key ‘market moving’ news items are covered from left-of-center CNN Business and right-of-center Newsmax. “We Provide, You Decide.” Additionally, MHProNews provides expert commentary and analysis on the issues that others can’t or won’t cover that help explain why manufactured housing has been underperforming during the Berkshire era while an affordable housing crisis and hundreds of thousands of homeless in America rages on. These are “Industry News, Tips, and Views Pros Can Use” © features and others made and kept us the runaway #1 in manufactured housing trade publisher for a dozen years and counting.
If it is true then it isn’t necessarily bragging. By checking the facts and following the money trail, even on controversial topics, MHProNews has provided reports and analysis that stand the test of time. While others – including various examples from mainstream media – have published reports that later need to be corrected or modified in significant ways, reports on MHProNews in recent years have provided a routinely dependable resource for reliable information, analysis, and evidence-based ‘logical’ commentary. There is simply nothing else like it, which is why we have been and remain the #1, despite coverage that often vexes the powers that be in manufactured housing.
