“Jackie DeAngelis breaks down the differences between capitalism versus socialism,” says Fox Business Network’s (FBN) YouTube page. More to the point, perhaps, is that this FBN video features a panel discussion that begins to unpack the issue of the rise in interest in socialism’s in the U.S.
For those unfamiliar with right-of-center FBN, here’s how they describe themselves. “FOX Business Network (FBN) is a financial news channel delivering real-time information across all platforms that impact both Main Street and Wall Street.”
The screen capture below is a still from the video above. Given the number of candidates that say that they favor ‘Democratic Socialism’ or some variation on that theme, it is a legitimate topic.
What would happen to investments in the U.S., if socialism replaced the right to private property? Do Millennials – or anyone else – want to give up their ownership of smartphones, vehicles, housing – or their right to property?
Ponder what Meriam Webster said is the definition of socialism.
Definition of socialism
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
