‘Anus Scan’ Stanford–Where is the Pork? Mapping Waste, Fraud, Corruption, Taxpayer Abuse–OpenTheBooks Report=50 Examples Include IRS Pays 2.2 Million Dead $3.6 Billion Stimulus; plus MHMarkets

“It’s time for a transparency revolution,” says Adam Andrzejewski CEO of OpenTheBooks.com. “I know that restoring transparency is not only the surest way to achieve results, but also to earn back the trust in government…” said then U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (IL-D), who later went on to become the 44th President of the United States. That quote is part of the report below, as is this one from the late Tom Coburn: “OpenTheBooks is doing the work I envisioned when the Coburn-Obama bill became law. Their innovative app and other tools are putting sunlight through a magnifying glass.” Coburn (OK-R) plowed similar ground for years in his Pork report. Andrzejewski says the government is not efficient, the that documented waste, fraud, corruption, and abuse is rampant. He has been covered in reports by left and right leaning media, including but not limited to: NBC News, CBS News, Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, ABC News, Real Clear Politics, Sinclair, EpochTV and Zero Hedge.

A statement emailed to MHProNews that from Andrzejewski included the video below.

The teaser for the OpenTheBooks oversight report said:

  • Dead people paid billions of dollars.2 million deceased people were paid $3.6 billion in economic stimulus checks. (The IRS didn’t check the deceased persons list at Social Security before cutting the checks.)
  • The Do Not Pay list — Got Paid:57,000 entities received $3.6 billion in Paycheck Protection Plan (PPP) forgivable loans because the SBA didn’t check the Treasury’s Do Not Pay list.

The ever-rising national debt just surpassed $30 trillion this year – at least $91,613 for every person in the U.S.

So, just how much federal waste, silliness, weird or unnecessary spending are your tax dollars funding? We found staggering examples where you are literally getting ripped off.
Breaking today, some of the worst examples are highlighted in our new oversight report, Where’s The Pork?

Together, let’s hold the political class accountable. Remember, they’re spending your money!

Fighting for Transparency,

Adam Andrzejewski Founder and CEO, OpenTheBooks.com

Per that source:

  • 1) Federal spending is out of control— while federal tax revenue is more than $4 trillion, federal spending is more than $6 trillion, leaving a $2 trillion deficit.
  • 2) The national debtis more than $30 trillion as of April 2022.
  • 3) That’s $91,353 debt per citizen; $242,501 per taxpayer.
  • 4) The U.S. federal debt-to-GDP ratio has grownover the years. In 2000, it was 58 percent. In April 2022, it’s almost 126 percent.
  • 5) The largest areas of spending are on Medicare/Medicaid ($1.3 trillion), social security ($1 trillion), defense/war ($725 billion), and sadly, interest on debt ($431 billion).
  • 6) Medicare and social security are severely underfunded, $34 trillion and $22 trillion, respectively, in long-term unfunded liabilities.
  • 7) The U.S. unfunded liabilities are $123 trillion. That works out to $507,589 of liability per citizen. (Source: Truth In Accounting).
  • 8) Americans themselves aren’t doing much better than the government. They have $1.7 trillion in student loan debt ($39,699 per student) and $1 trillion in credit card debt ($6,458 per holder).
  • 9) This out-of-control spending hasn’t solved social problems: almost 40 million people are living in poverty, almost 42 million receiving food stamps, 27 million without health insurance, almost half a million bankruptcies and almost 63,000 foreclosures.
  • 10) Wasteful spending will continue as long as lawmakers have no direct repercussions for voting on pork or misspending taxpayer money.

Additional Information, More MHProNews Analysis and Commentary in Brief

The organization’s apparent contention is in alignment with others who believe that taxpayer dollars should not go to waste, fraud, corruption, cronyism, and other abuses of the system. OpenTheBooks preaches that sunlight is a good disinfectant. Note their point 9 above, where they point out that out of control spending hasn’t solved social problems. In our profession, after some 50 years has HUD solved the housing crisis? No. Has the Biden Department of Energy provided Americans with more and less costly energy? No.

Such examples go on and on, thus proverbial sunlight is provided by transparency, argues OpenTheBooks CEO Andrzejewski.

The organization is nonpartisan. But the case can be made that it is in keeping with the wave of reformers who are tired of seeing the American system at the local, state, and federal levels hijacked by special interests that routinely seek to benefit themselves and their cronies.

While they are nonpartisan, their stances fit with several of the pragmatic arguments recently made by the political group reported in the link below. Andrzejewski told a group in 2020 that the Trump Administration and taken notice of their work and wanted to implement several of their reforms. That was apparently ended when Trump was ousted and Biden took over in the Oval Office.

As their stance is in alignment with a key job of media as defined by the American Press Institute (API). Thus, MHProNews is pleased to provide OpenTheBooks with digital coverage of their apparently good efforts. As the group said, it is OUR taxpayer money that they are fighting to keep from being wasted and abused.

Trade media can and should be a ‘cheer leader’ when it is appropriate to do so. But authentic trade media also holds the powers that be to account. Who says? The American Press Institute.

Against that backdrop is their full evidence-packed and graphically appealing report is found here as a download. It offers some 50 examples of the kind of waste, fraud, and abuse that has caused an explosion of the federal budget in roughly the last two years.

“In 2021, we filed 47,000 Freedom of Information Act requests and successfully captured $12 trillion in public expenditures. We are rapidly growing our data in all 50 states down to the municipal level. We won’t stop until we capture every dime taxed and spent by our government,” says their website.

Apparently taxpayer supported research such as Stanford University is developing ‘smart toilets’ that do ‘anus scans.’ Is that the type of world you want your tax dollars to support?

The system is rigged in the favor of the connected few, but the winds of change are coming. Those who promised a green energy future with open borders and easy or no bail crime policies are facing voter backlash. So called “Establishment Republicans,” Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Leftist Democrats are facing growing pushback from voters. November’s midterm elections are just a few months away. Facts like these provided by OpenTheBooks could well result in more ‘throw the bums out’ and reform of the system thinking among the American population.

Some commentators are saying that the actual rate of inflation in the U.S. is more like 15 to 20 percent.
