FEC filings and manufactured home (MH) industry sources are telling the Daily Business News on MHProNews that one of the big MH community operators is a large supporter of the campaign of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (MI-D).
While it is public record, that community operation’s name will be revealed later, as other industry ties to Stabenow are being explored. Rephrased, expect more than one tie-in, if sources are correct.
Michigan has been one of the top states in the U.S. for manufactured housing shipments in recent years, as data from the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports. See the latest MHARR shipment report says the state is number 9 in the U.S. Linked below the graphic are more new manufactured home shipment details.
Strong HUD Code Production Growth in August 2018 | Manufactured Housing Association Regulatory Reform
Washington, D.C., October 3, 2018 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), strong year-over-year manufactured housing industry production growth continued in August 2018.
Manufactured Home Owner, Star Kid Rock
Multimillionaire manufactured home owner Kid Rock is supporting Stabenow’s opponent.
Focused MHProNews readers may recall that Kid Rock, a.k.a. Robert Ritchie, feigned a campaign run for the Stabenow U.S. Senate seat last year. He did so under the cover of a voter registration drive. A Daily Business News report last year is packed with more videos, hilarity, and edgy political insights.
Kid Rock’s popular music video Po-Dunk features his personal camo multi-sectional manufactured home. While salty and suggestive, his video celebrates the Bible, Guns, and Gritty Americans of all racial backgrounds that are often unjustly dismissed. Many of those in the video below are depicted as living in manufactured homes. Po-Dunk has had over 19 million views. It’s posted below.
Rock and Donald Trump, Jr. are supporting John James for the U.S. Senate in MI.
James is running in a state that President Trump won narrowly in 2016, as part of his upset victory. Rock said that James in the U.S. Senate will make “D.C. liberals cry,” said the News Herald.
Donald Trump, Jr. has been a ‘hot ticket’ on the GOP fundraising and stump, report numerous mainstream media sources. Trump Jr. and Rock are actively supporting John James.
Stabenow is a known commodity, gets plenty of big Democratic donor money. She votes with Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer 91 percent of the time, per ProPublica. Among several positions that should concern most manufactured home business professionals and investors is her vote for Dodd-Frank.
The gap between James, a relative unknown compared to Stabenow, is closing rapidly. See the RCP graphic, but note the MHProNews commentary.
Long-time readers here may recall that in 2016, the Daily Business News reported on the wide support among manufactured home industry professionals of candidate Trump. The margin between manufactured home residents favored Trump too, but by as big a margin as professionals.
Editorially, we backed the candidate in the spring of 2016, in an article that was later posted on Donald J. Trump campaign
As discerning manufactured home professional readers of the Daily Business News are discovering, MHI ‘big boy’ backers and their political allies are funding candidates in several key races. See the latest link below. But ICYMI, see the related reports after this writer’s by line.
With the “Kanye effect” – President Trump’s support among blacks and minorities have been steadily rising. It is now near or at historic highs in the modern era. It is always all about turnout at the polls. But if that trend holds, it spells the opposite of what many mainstream media pundits suggest is a coming blue wave.
More likely – again, based upon turnout to vote – is a red wave. Even mainstream media polling shows the shift toward GOP candidates.
The so-called ‘big boys’ in manufactured housing are often, but not always, lining up with the Democrats. 7 of the top 10 U.S. billionaires are supporting Democrats. The Koch brothers, who are often touted by Democrats as the big donors for the GOP, are not siding with the President Trump on immigration, a top issue for the president and his base. ICYMI, or need a refresher, see the related report, linked below.
The bottom line on this topic for now is this. Unscientific indicators – people who tell MHProNews how they intend to vote – are strongly leaning toward the Trump agenda and the GOP candidates he supports. By contrast, some of the bigger names in the industry are financially supporting heavy regulation Democrats.
The good news is that 2016 proved that voters can trump – pardon the pun – the Democratic donor class. These are details that no one else in MHVille are bringing to you – and in some cases, per MHI sources – contradict information that the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) has been telling their members.
Election guru Nate Silver, who predicted a Secretary Hillary Clinton win in 2016, admitted in a tortured way recently that the races are toss-up. Talk radio king Rush Limbaugh said
Here, we cite sources, follow the evidence, and follow the money.
Opinions are a dime a dozen. It’s evidence, not mere opinion, that matters to professionals who want to know what to expect the midterm impact to be on their business or investments.
Maybe MHProNews’ strong track record on politics as it relates to elections are a big reason why the industry’s professionals are flocking to MHProNews in record numbers?
