There are tragically over half-a-million homeless in the United States tonight, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
There are an estimated 111 million living in rental housing, said the Apartment List earlier in 2019.
The economy has generated so much demand for workers that there are about 7 million jobs that are waiting to be filled.
Affordable housing is a crisis in every state in the Union.
Conventional construction is rising.
Manufactured housing communities are at or near capacity in numerous markets.
That all reads like a no-brainer recipe for manufactured housing success, doesn’t it?
But for reasons we’ve covered numbers of times, that is clearly not the case. Manufactured home demand, production, and shipments have actually declined since the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) inaccurately proclaimed in late 2018 that the industry had ‘momentum,’ even as the Wisconsin Housing Alliance’s Amy Bliss, who routinely attends MHI meetings said in an interview that she feared an industry downturn.
In the U.S. Senate today, there was a hearing which will be the subject of an upcoming deeper-dive MHProNews fact-check and analysis. Our initial report on that is linked below, but don’t miss the follow-up, as what is poised to occur can negatively impact your business and/or investments.
From a big 3 MHI member, there are on-the-record words MHProNews has in hand that directly contradict at least some of what Arlington, VA based MHI has been saying.
A series of special reports are coming. These are fact, evidence, and follow-the-money news reports with analysis that you won’t find anywhere else in MHVille’s trade media. Which begs the question, why don’t others report issues that the most-read, runaway #1 manufactured housing news source covers?
It all depends on which of the powers that be lines who’s pockets, and which are willing to sell out or publish pablum versus accurately covering serious issues, all for the sake of a few pieces of silver.
The Upcoming Bottom Line
There is solid, on-the-record, and credible testimony MHI will find difficult to refute that we will be publishing. It could fairly be described as clearly pointing to corruption and/or conflicts of interest involving the major players at MHI.
