As the arrest and emerging details of his purported killer Tyler Robinson are emerging, it is also apparent that Kirk was loathed by numbers of others. How valid is the notion of situational ethics or the belief that ‘the ends justifies the means?’ Before pivoting into those headline topics, like who will step up at Turning Point USA and his radio and podcast programs (more on those below) it is worth pondering: what makes for great leadership? Dave Durand on Relevant Radio recent said that ultimately a great leader is someone who takes you where you want to go. “Leadership is about efficacy.” Moral values are an important and valuable factor, said Durand, but leadership is about doing the thing that you are supposed to do. You must know “what it is that you are trying to accomplish.” There are many reasons to consider the news about Charlie Kirk’s death, who or what will follow Kirk, will his widowed wife Erika said, what role will she play at TP USA and his programming, or will leadership be provided by someone else? Will some on the right be cowed into fear over the murder of Kirk in an open-air event on a Utah campus? Or will the concept of overcoming the evil of murder through good serve to inspire and overcome the act of an assassin’s bullet ending the life of Kirk? It is arguably useful to consider the possible inspirations or takeaways for people and professions across the political and cultural spectrums. Did Kirk plant the seeds for the next leaders of Turning Point U.S.A.? With these thoughts in mind, it is worth pondering in the mix of the headline topics the need for decision makers to purposefully prepare through a level of letting go to allow others to act or do, often called delegating (subsidiarity). Erika Kirk, the widow of the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, vowed in a primetime address Friday that her husband’s mission will only grow stronger.

“The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love,” she said, “They should all know this. If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea, you have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country. In this world.”
She spoke for just under 18 minutes from the studio where Kirk conducted his weekday podcast, in front of a podium with a picture of Charlie Kirk which said above it, “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of our loving savior.”

“You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife,” she said. “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated Wednesday while speaking on the campus of Utah Valley University. He was 31. A suspect was apprehended early Friday.
She gave thanks to Vice President JD Vance, whom she called a close friend of her husband’s, and Vance’s wife Usha. She said Charlie Kirk knew President Donald Trump loved him, and that he loved the president back.
And she expressed the love that she and her husband had for each other.
Kirk’s widow said that she would never let his movement fade.
“My husband’s mission will not end, not even for a moment. And one of Charlie’s greatest talents was his ability, this phenomenal ability to choose great people to follow him,” she said.
She thanked the law enforcement for catching his killer and the first responders who attempted to save his life.
She also talked at length about her husband’s Christian faith and his desire to inspire young people to be involved in politics.
“Nobody is ever too young to know the Gospel. Nobody. Nobody is ever too young to get involved with saving this beautiful country, this country my husband loved and still loves, and nobody is ever too old either,” she said. “There’s no age limit.”
She called for people to join a Bible-believing church, and join, or even start, a TPUSA chapter.
“He never gave up and I love knowing that one of his mottos was, ‘never surrender,’” she said. “So I want to tell you that we’ll never surrender. We never will, ever. Our campus tour this fall will continue. There will be even more tours in the years to come.”
She added that America Fest is happening in December in Phoenix, the base of Turning Point USA. She also said her late husband’s radio and podcast show would go on.
“My husband’s favorite word in the English language was ‘earned,’” she said. “He would call all of you to be people of action who earn the future America deserves. So to all of the young people who felt inspired by my husband’s faith in hard work, all of you already know what Charlie would want you to do.”
She pledged to make Turning Point USA “the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.”

The Awful Grace of God

From Abraham Lincoln to John F. Kennedy, and from Malcolm X to Martin Luther King Jr., America’s story has too often been marred by the silencing of visionary voices through violence. Each loss forces us to confront the question of what kind of nation we want to be.
Soon after the assassination of MLK in April 1968, Bobby Kennedy gave a speech in which he quoted the poet Aeschylus: “Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget, falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.”
Those words, born in an age of tragedy, echo across the centuries with a piercing relevance today. America and the entire conservative movement lost a great champion in Charlie Kirk.
When violence takes the life of a voice in our national debate, we are left with shock, anger, and grief. Yet into that despair drops the hard truth: Wisdom, if we allow it, comes not through vengeance but through God’s terrible, transforming grace.
Political violence is not new to America. We have lost presidents, ministers, senators, civil rights leaders, and everyday citizens—each assassination a tear in our national fabric. And every time, we stand at a crossroads. Will we allow hatred to harden us? Or will we, by God’s help, find a higher road?
As a people of faith and as citizens, we must stand in reverent fear of the Almighty and remember that every life is sacred, even when we disagree with one another passionately. The bullets that silence one voice threaten to silence us all, for they destroy the trust that undergirds self-government.
As such, we must view this moment as one not for partisanship but for patriotism. No matter our political affiliation or personal creed, we are bound by a common commitment to God, liberty, and justice.
When countless figures from across the political spectrum—even those who vehemently disagreed with him—including Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Democrat and Republican congressmen, senators, and governors, condemn this abhorrent act of violence, it is evident that those possessing wisdom and authority agree that bullets should never obstruct debate, that violence makes us worse off, not better.
Many people online are expressing hatred, asserting that Kirk’s murder was warranted. However, they represent the minority. They are youthful, perpetually online kids lacking the experience of accountability and the comprehension of morality. They are unaware of the weight they impose on their own souls. Pity these people and shame them. We must guarantee that the voices of individuals such as Kirk are amplified and endure perpetually. Bullets kill men but not ideas.
We are better than this. We can be better than this. We must be better than this. Not simply because our laws demand it but because our souls do. To rise above the violence is to testify that America is more than its divisions—that we are still capable of being one nation under God. America is in a dark place now. An excessive number of assassinations, both attempted and successful ones, have transpired. Despite any personal aversions to one’s beliefs, we are united as Americans with a singular objective: the betterment of America and the global community.
Taking another life won’t change the situation; it did not following the assassinations of MLK, John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X and others, nor will it after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The world was improved by their presence, and undoubtedly their ideas have and will persist and make the world a better place, as their teachings, mobilizations and ethical principles have integrated into the lives of millions, crossing national boundaries.
And let us not forget: Those who dedicate themselves to public service, whether in politics, ministry, or activism, often do so with the hope that their countrymen might live more freely, more virtuously, more at peace. Charlie would be first to remind us of this truth.
So let us pray for wisdom that comes through pain, for the awful grace that Bobby Kennedy appealed for, and for a renewed commitment to peace. May we choose love over hate, and life over death. For the sake of our children, for the sake of our republic—we must.

Silencing Dissent: The Chilling Implications of Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
So, it’s very scary, and it’s not occurring in a vacuum. I know that both sides have extremists, but when you look at the Rep. Steve Scalise shooting—where a former Sen. Bernie Sanders organizer who helped in the campaign tried to take out, deliberately tried to take out, the Republican leadership in the House as a political act. And then you look at two near-successful assassination attempts on President Donald Trump. And then you have these spinoff things.
Brian Thompson, a man of the middle class who worked up the chain of command to be the CEO of UnitedHealth, which offered health insurance that was needed by millions of people. And he’s what? Gunned down and assassinated by Luigi Mangione.
What I’m getting at is the reaction as well.
What was the reaction to Steve Scalise and the Republicans? Was there outrage from the Left? No.
What was the reaction to the near assassination attempts of Donald Trump? Yes, there were principled people on the Left that deplored that, but a couple of polling companies took surveys, and a third of Democrats wished that these assassination attempts had been successful.
What was the reaction to the murder of Brian Thompson by Luigi Mangione? He was the object of a puff piece by Taylor Lorenz, a former Washington Post reporter. He’s got an opera named after him. He is a folk hero among the Left. It reminds me of the Tsarnaev brother, who was a mass murderer of the Boston bombings. Rolling Stone put a photogenic picture of him on their cover.
So, what I’m getting at is, when you kill somebody who’s involved in politics, and now we’ve gone to the next level, politics and as a media influencer and as a journalist and as an opinion writer, and there is not widespread condemnation of that—and there was booing even in the House of Representatives just for a simple call for an a minute of prayer on behalf of Charlie—then something is wrong.
And what is that wrong? We are legitimizing political violence.
If you call someone day after day after day, “white, white, white, white”; “racist, racist, racist”; “fascist, fascist, fascist”; “Nazi, Nazi, Nazi”—we hear that from Joy Reid. We see it on “The View.” We see it on MSNBC. Even just seconds after Charlie died, we had Matthew Dowd go on and basically said that he got what he deserved because he was an extremist, etc., and he and you “live by the sword, die by the sword” sort of argument he used.
So, what we’re doing is we’re legitimizing violence and we’re contextualizing it. And when you use hyperbole and you call someone a fascist or an abject racist, what that sends a message to are people in the woodwork of America feel two things. They don’t see people getting punished for violent crimes.
And I can direct you to the violent killer, murderer, executioner of our Ukrainian immigrant on a light-rail car in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was let out 14 times. The murder of a young, retired—in my view, she’s young—retired, 57-year-old Auburn professor of veterinary medicine killed. The person who killed her: ex-felon out.
And so, when you combine this idea that if you commit a murder, if you commit violence, there might not be swift and immediate and extreme punishment with the idea that many people have celebrated killers in the past, like Mangione, or the people who tried to kill Donald Trump, then out in the woodwork of America creep out people who say, “I can get away with it, or I can at least not face the death penalty, I won’t face severe penalties. But more importantly, I will be enshrined in the pantheon of liberal heroes ’cause I took out a fascist, I took out a modern-day Hitler, I took out a transphobe,” all of that.
And so, when you look at what’s going on in America on the Left—whether it’s the racial Left, whether it is the extremist ideological Left, whether it’s the trans Left—what we’re seeing is that there is a contextualization, a normalization, an institutionalization, an excuse, an apology for the use of violence as a political means. Doesn’t mean that they are doing it themselves, but when they see it happen, they will find ways not to condemn it, and they will create an atmosphere of hatred in which some people will be encouraged by it.
And mark my words: I haven’t looked at social media as I’m speaking today, but within 48 hours, there will be people throughout the left-wing blogosphere who will be praising this horrific death of a great American and a great person, Charlie Kirk.

3) There are those who are using the murder of Kirk to advocate for more gun control. But that is contrary the founding principles of America, where the right to self-defense is enshrined in part by the Second Amendment. The reality is that numerous areas where there is ‘strict’ gun control still exhibits a use of those ‘illegal’ guns. The logic of some on the left is that so long as there are areas that there is less strict gun control, then guns can be taken into areas where gun control is stronger. But that ignores several realities. Among them? Even in nations that effective ban the use of citizens owning firearms, knives, vehicles, or bats or rocks have been used to commit acts of violence or murder. Kirk’s foundational beliefs were, as he said, inspired by faith in God. When people are motivated by such faith, they are arguably less likely to commit acts of violence. But as Kirk observed, sin infects humanity ‘from birth.’ People are tempted to evil. The founders recognized that without moral grounding, the Constitution and laws are not enough. A premise of the founders is that power held by the government had to be kept in check. Free speech and the right to self-defense are thus checks against the power of the government, which is often exercised by those who have greater wealth and influence.

5) Some of these are deep issues that people take years, decades, or much of their life studying. No one article is going to be exhaustive. That said, MHProNews has been raising ethical topics for years, as is illustrated in what follows.

Note that quoting sources across the spectrum doesn’t mean that they are each ‘correct.’ Bias exists, and at times, bias demonstrably influences how an article is written, and what information is included or left out. Kirk understood that, and at various times and ways called that out.
This article engaged with left-leaning AIs, by their own research/admissions. While different than Kirk, when an AI says something that is demonstrably incorrect, it is advisable to respond with evidence that shows it is wrong. 7) Erika Kirk says her husband’s work and efforts will only grow stronger. Time, of course, and the flow of events will tell. But it would not be surprising if Erika’s moving remarks could come to pass. But that will depend on what individuals do. How individuals respond. People have free will. If much or all of what he digested was left-leaning, and if those sources called Kirk a ‘fascist,’ ‘Nazi,’ or other slurs – for someone that is ‘educated’ so to speak to think a certain way – it is not so surprising when some act out on those beliefs. That’s not mere opinion. It is the basis of serious research, claims, and reporting that spans decades.

Among the possible takeaways? Kirk, as was noted at the top is lionized by some and loathed by others. There are areas his views may have been evolving, but his life has been cut short. But Kirk emphasized discussion, robust discussion, but discussion. If someone believes in free speech, then why was he gunned down? If someone doesn’t believe in free speech, then who is the authoritarian: the gunman or Kirk?
The dominating narratives of our society are from the left. That’s a matter of research. Kirk challenged several of those narratives. Agree or disagree, he changed minds. It will be significant to periodically what he said, just as we have monitored other figures that have influenced our society.
