Feeling the Need for Speed? Top Gun 2, Maverick

Still from video, below.

Between the two Top Gun 2, Maverick official ‘trailer’ videos, they’ve had over 20 million views.

If you are like tens of millions of others, it is the sequel that has been awaited for decades.

What does this have to do with manufactured housing? Nothing.

Manufactured housing is an amazing product with huge potential. The right storytelling could make for a story that may not be as thrilling as this movie purports to be. But it may be just as compelling to tens of millions who live in a manufactured or mobile home, or who don’t yet understand the industry but the right story telling would help it to break through.

The big boys of our industry know that very well. They are arguably doing reverse product placement to depress the industry. Give the high marks for deviously clever. What do you expect from someone that leads a conglomerate and is a self-professed atheist?

Do you feel the need for speed?

Check out the videos. The first of two from the original Top Gun movie are also posted for context, for the younger crowd that may not have seen it yet for the 3rd or 4th time. It starts with the opening scenes, but then cuts to a point later in the movie. The second video below picks up in the combat scene where the first one leaves you hanging.

If HBO’s John Oliver can have a video of over 15 minutes in length that gets millions of views that makes our industry’s problems seem universal to many casual viewers, surely the smart guys in the Omaha-Knoxville-Arlington axis and their allies could too, if they wanted to…correct?
