Tracked Housing Stocks Close Mixed; Three Major Indexes Slide

Investors focused on a mixed bag of corporate earnings and a dismal outlook from Caterpillar as the three major indexes all slid into the red zone for the day. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged down -54.33 points, -0.35 percent, to end the day at 15,413.33. The Nasdaq fell -0.57 percent, -22.50 points to end today’s session at 3,907.07, while the S&P dropped- 0.47 percent, -8.29 points, to close at 1,746.38. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained 2.66 percent to close at 885.0. Housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed mixed or even. Louisiana Pacific Corp. gained the most of tracked stocks, +2.10 percent, +0.37, to finish at 17.96. UMH Properties fell the most of stocks we follow, -0.12, -1.14 percent, to finish at 10.38.
