Most Tracked Housing Stocks, Three Major Indexes Advance

Alcoa beat forecasts for its second quarter earnings as sentiment continues to be buoyed by the jobs report last week, nudging all three major indexes up in today’s trading. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced +75.80 points, +0.50 percent, to close at 15,300.49. The Nasdaq rose +0.56 percent, +19.43 points, to end the day at 3,504.26, while the S&P gained +0.72 percent, +11.86 points, to close at 1,652.32. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite fell -0.13 percent to end the session at 1149.9. Most housing stocks we follow closed up or even, with Nobility Homes notching the biggest gain of tracked stocks, +3.02 percent, +0.22 points, to finish the day at 7.50. Skyline Corp. fell the most of stocks we track in today’s trading, falling -0.14 points, -3.55 percent, to close at 3.80. Affiliated Managers Group 166.41 +0.89 (+0.54%). Cavco Industries 51.25 +0.19 (+0.37%). Champion, Liberty Homes and Palm Harbor continued unchanged. Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 173,741 +1,241.00 (+0.72%).
