Most Tracked Housing Stocks Advance, as do the Three Major Indexes

All three indexes advanced, with the Dow moving up over 120 points, as inflation remains low and housing starts increase, despite concerns of what the Federal Reserve may reveal Wed., June 19, about possibly tapering the quantitative easing. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained +0.91 percent, +138.38 points, to end the day at 15,318.23. The Nasdaq moved up +0.87 percent, +30.05 points, to end the day at 3,482.18, while the S&P rose +0.78 percent, +12.77 points, to finish the session today at 1,651.81. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained 2.30 percent to close at 1160.3. Housing stocks we track closed mixed or even, although the gainers outnumbered the losers, just as yesterday. Universal Forest Products, Inc. gained the most of stocks we track, adding +4.09 percent, +1.77 to close at 45.00. Skyline Corp. nudged down the most of tracked stocks, -0.47 percent, -0.02 points, to finish at 4.21. Affiliated Managers Group 170.04 +1.32 (+0.78%). Cavco Industries 48.45 +0.63 (+1.32%). Champion, Liberty Homes and Palm Harbor continued unchanged. Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 172,581 -129.00 (-0.07%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.65. Drew Industries, Inc. 41.25 +0.45 (+1.10%). Equity LifeStyle Properties, Inc. 79.38 +0.42 (+0.53%). Louisiana Pacific Industries 17.09 -0.02 (-0.12%).
