Most Housing Stocks Drop Slightly on Slow Day

CNNMoney reports all three indexes moved down very slightly on a quiet trading day at the New York Stock Exchange as the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost -3.56 points, -0.03 percent, to close at 13,271.64. The Nasdaq fell -0.01 percent to 3,076.21, while the S&P remained basically unchanged at 1,418.13. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite inched down -0.31% to close at  996.9. All but two housing stocks we follow closed down or even. Third Avenue Value Fund (8.17) advanced the most of stocks we track, gaining +0.58%, +0.27, to close at 47.17, while Universal Forest Products, Inc. gained +0.57%, +0.20, to end the day at 35.51. Nobility Homes dropped the most of tracked stocks, falling -3.82%, -0.20, to end the day at 5.03. Affiliated Managers Group 117.97 -1.17 (-0.98%). Cavco Industries 46.00 -0.04 (-0.09%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 128,600 -280.00 (-0.22%). Drew Industries 29.25 -0.22 (-0.75%). Champion, Liberty Homes, Deer Valley and Palm Harbor all remained unchanged. Equity Lifestyle Properties 68.50 -0.39 (-0.57%). Louisiana Pacific Corp. 13.19 -0.28 (-2.08%). Patrick Industries 12.96 -0.04 (-0.31%). Skyline Corp. 4.59 -0.07 (-1.50%). Sun Communities 46.39 -0.25 (-0.54%). UMH Properties 11.42 -0.07 (-0.61%).
