Dow Hits New High; Tracked Housing Stocks Close Mixed

Solid corporate earnings gave a boost to stocks as the Dow closed at a record high in today’s trading. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained +128.66 points, +10.82 percent, to close at 15,746.63. While the Nasdaq dropped -0.20 percent, -7.91 points, to end the day at 3,931.95 while the S&P advanced +7.52 points, +0.43 percent, to close at 1,770.49. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained +1.69 percent to close at 858.6. Housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed mixed or even, although Affiliated Managers Group gained more than other tracked stocks, moving up +3.48 percent, +6.72 points, to end at 199.92. Patrick Industries fell the most of stocks we follow, -2.03 percent, -0.63 points, to end the day at 30.34. Cavco Industries, Inc. 57.93 -0.07 (-0.12%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 172,400 +549.00 (+0.32%). Drew Industries, Inc. 51.52 -0.78 (-1.49%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.65. Equity LifeStyle Properties remained unchanged at 37.19. Liberty Homes remained unchanged at 0.60. Louisiana Pacific Corp. 16.10 +0.37 (+2.35%). Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 9.95. Skyline Corp. 4.60 +0.06 (+1.32%). Sun Communities, Inc. 43.64 -0.26 (-0.59%).
