Wall Street Celebrates Banner Year as Dow, Nasdaq and S&P Gain over 25 Percent

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the year at an all-time high for the 52nd time, while the S&P also finished the year in record territory. The Nasdaq settled at its highest level since 2000, as Wall Street overall had a banner year. CNNMoney reports the Dow moved up +72.37 points, +0.44 percent, to close at 16,576.66. The Nasdaq advanced 0.54 percent, +22.39 points, to finish at 4176.59, while the S&P edged up + 7.29 points, +0.40 percent, to end the year at 1,848.36. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained +0.05 percent to close at 779.8. Housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed mixed or even, although Liberty Homes spiked +9.65 percent, gaining +0.07 points, to close at 0.75. Cavco Industries, Inc. slid the most of tracked stocks, -0.85 percent, -0.59, to close at 69.70. Affiliated Managers Group 216.88 +1.90 (+0.88%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 177,900 +8.31 (+0.47%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.65. Drew Industries 51.20 -0.37 (-0.72%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 36.23 -0.23 (-0.63%). Louisiana Pacific Industries 18.52 -0.13 (-0.75%).
