…Until the Fat Lady Sings

ItsNotOverUntilTheFatLadySingsEnglishTest-netDailyBusinessNewsMHProNewsHouse Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has said that is is over. ObamaCare is here to stay.

Some Republican legislators and political leaders want it to be over too. Governor John Kasich of OH is among them.

In opera, there is an expression that the performance isn’t finished until the fat lady sings.”

President Donald J. Trump may have attended a performance or two, because he has signaled that it isn’t over on ObamaCare. He believes that he still has leverage, including the ability to stop funding the losses taking place due to the failing markets.

Or to end the carve outs on healthcare for Congress, and their staffers.

In a pair of tweets, President Trump said: “If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!”

That was followed two days later by, “If ObamaCare is hurting people, & it is, why shouldn’t it hurt the insurance companies & why should Congress not be paying what public pays?”

There is also word from Bloomberg that the president may be looking at various forms of executive action as well.

That may all come to a head, as early as today, August 1, 2017. The administration has only committed to supporting with taxpayer dollars the insurance markets through the end of July.

Is it Over?

We are in the promise keeping business,” Vice President Mike Pence has repeatedly said since the election.

VPMikePenceNFIBPresidentJunaittaDugganSmallBusinessConfidenceJulia Granowicz’s report on the NFIB and healthcare, make it clear that small business – including manufactured housing operations – want to get this done.

The same mainstream media whose polls alleged that Secretary Hillary Clinton was ‘a shoe in’ for the Oval Office just before the 2016 voting was complete, now say it is over on reforming the so-called Affordable Care Act (ACA).

But as Julia Granowicz’s reported at this link here, trust in media is lower than the trust in Congress or the president, who leads them both.

Is it over on the health care issue? There is no proverbially rotund woman visible on the White House stage, so stay tuned. Something could happen from the Oval Office, as early as today. ## (News, analysis.)
