Skyline Spikes, Patrick Sputters, Dow and S&P Hit 5-year High

Positive corporate earnings reports inspired investors as the Dow and the S&P rose to their highest levels since Dec. 2007. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained +0.46%, 62.43 points, to end the day at 13,712.13. The Nasdaq moved up +0.27%, +8.47, to close at 3,143.18, while the S&P gained +0.44%, +6.53, to close at 1492.51. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite gained +1.75% percent to close at 1,327.6. Tracked housing stocks closed mixed, but Skyline Corp. gained +6.86%, +0.30 to close at 4.67. Patrick Industries lost the most of tracked stocks, dropping -3.62%, -0.59, to end the day at 15.42. Affiliated Managers Group 143.10 +0.68 (+0.48%). Cavco Industries 50.97 +0.70 (+1.39%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 144,805 +1,303.00 (+0.91%). Champion, Deer Valley, Liberty Homes and Palm Harbor Homes all remained unchanged. Drew Industries 35.58 -0.35 (-0.97%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 72.21 +0.56 (+0.78%). Louisiana Pacific Industries 21.10 +0.10 (+0.48%). Nobility Homes 4.75 -0.15 (-3.06%). Sun Communities 43.29 +0.24 (+0.56%). Third Avenue Value Fund (Jan. 18) 51.62 +0.09 (+0.17%).
