The website SmarTrend recently compared several manufactured home builders with site builders on the basis of a measuring unit known as revenue per employee (RPE), finding the site builders outperforming manufactured home builders. SmarTrend says analysts use RPE as a measure to compare the productivity of companies in the same industry. While Skyline has an RPE of $114K and Cavco Industries ranks second with an RPE of $128K,  Toll Brothers has an RPE of $724K – five-and-a-half times that of Cavco. Hovnanian Enterprises and Lennar have even higher RPE numbers, $784K and $802K respectively.
