S&P Hits New High; Most Tracked Housing Stocks Gain

While investors try to determine when the Federal Reserve will begin tapering its monetary support, the Dow rose steadily during the trading day as the S&P hit a new high. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained +70.96 points, +0.45 percent, to finish the day at 15,821.63. The Nasdaq moved up +1.16 percent, +45.66 to end the day at 3,965.58, while the S&P gained 14.31 points, +0.81 percent, to close at 1,782.00. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite advanced +1.32 percent to close at 804.6. Most housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed up or even. Cavco Industries gained +2.46 percent, moving up +1.37 points, to end at 56.37, while Skyline Corp. nudged down the most of stocks we follow, -0.65 percent, -0.03 points, to end the day at 4.62. Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 171,150 +939.00 (+0.55%).
