Patrick Rises, Skyline Falls, Dow is Flat

All three major indexes made very modest gains in today’s trading as investors waited for testimony from Janet Yellen, the new head of the Federal Reserve. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up +7.71 points, +0.05 percent, to end the day at 15,801.79. The Nasdaq advanced +0.54 percent, +22.31 points, to finish at 4,148.17, while the S&P nudged up +2.82 points, +0.16 percent, to end the day at 1,799.84. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite lost -0.42 percent to close at 688.5. Housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed mixed or even, but Patrick Industries spiked +5.41 percent, +1.90, to close at 37.00. Skyline Corp. plummeted the most of tracked stocks, -5.49%, -0.35 to finish at 6.02 points. Affiliated Managers Group 187.01 +0.36 (+0.19%). Cavco Industries Inc. 73.21 +0.31 (+0.43%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 169,120 +110.00 (+0.07%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.75. Drew Industries 45.92 -0.28 (-0.61%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 39.65 +0.37 (+0.94%). Liberty Homes remained steady at 0.73.
