ReadMedia, Inc. reports the New York State Home and Communities Renewal (HCR) has approved $52.5 million to provide and preserve 756 affordable housing units as part of a community development project across the state. The public-private partnership will address issues of safety and accessibility, especially for the elderly and those with more modest means hit hardest by the recession. One of the projects is for $400,000 through the Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC) to replace 10 older factory-built homes with new HUD Code, Energy Star manufactured homes in Greene County.
