Most Housing Stocks Advance, as do Three Major Indexes

Investors continued to remain cautious on the economy but did push all three major indexes into positive territory. CNNMoney reports the Dow gained +76.10 points, +0.51 percent, to close at 15,072.58. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq moved up +0.89 percent, +33.42 points to end today’s trading at 3,807.76, while the S&P advanced +0.71 percent, +11.84 points, to close at 1,690.50. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite remained steady at 2061.4 for the fourth straight day. Most housing stocks we track in today’s trading closed up to end the week: Louisiana Pacific Corp. moved up +2.35 percent, +0.41, to finish at 17.89. Sun Communities, Inc. fell the most of stocks we follow, -1.31 percent, -0.56, to finish at 42.22. Affiliated Managers Group 188.50 +2.52 (+1.35%). Cavco Industries 56.07 +0.07 (+0.13%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 170,743 +748.00 (+0.44%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.65. Drew Industries, Inc. 46.88 +0.16 (+0.34%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 33.78 +0.30 (+0.90%). Liberty Homes remained unchanged at 0.60. Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 9.05. Patrick Industries, Inc. 29.18 -0.07 (-0.24%). Skyline Corp. 4.97 +0.07 (+1.43%). Third Avenue Value Fund (Oct. 3) 56.99 -0.24 (-0.42%).
