Modular Housing Development to be Voted on April 7

Updating a story MHProNews.com first posted Feb. 13, 2014 regarding a proposal for a modular housing community in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, the city council remains divided on the project. While property owner representative John Hashem says the land has been vacant since 1976, other plans have not materialized and he says the 15 acres should be re-zoned as medium-density residential for 85 modular homes to be built by Moduline. The city planning department, however, says the property is too close to an industrial site and that it will restrict future industrial development, according to medicinehatnews.com. A final city council vote on the project is set for Monday, April 7. ##
