hqyellowknife reports from the Northwest Territories, Canada, Homes North is partnering with FSC Architects and Engineers to build 100 modular homes in the Kam Lake subdivision. The city administration is beginning to negotiate with Homes North on the project to be built near the North Slave Correctional Centre. In response to neighbor’s concerns about increased traffic and water quality in Kam Lake, engineer Walter Or says, “We are meeting city standards in terms of underground services. We’re meeting city standards in terms of road grades. Homes North is committed to paying for the road construction up to the point of the asphalt, the engineering of those works.” In addition, Or says they will build parks in the area. Homes North eventually hopes to build up to 180 single and multi-family homes in Kam Lake.
