Housing Composite, Most Tracked Stocks Rise

Corporate earnings reports gave the Dow Jones Industrial Average a little bit of steam, as it gained +0.58 percent, +74.39 points, to close just over the 13,000 mark at 13,001.56. CNNMoney says the Nasdaq fell -0.30 percent to end the day at 2,961.60, while the S & P moved up +0.37 percent to close at 1,371.97. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite rose +2.30 percent to close at 1032.40. Most all housing stocks we track closed up. Cavco Industries gained the most of tracked stocks, moving up +5.72 percent, +2.47, to end the trading day at 45.64, although Skyline performed well today as did Louisiana Pacific. Nobility Homes and Third Avenue Value Fund were our only two losers, each falling -1.14 percent. Affiliated Managers Group 110.92 +0.53 (+0.48%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 119,700 +1,406.00 (+1.19%). Champion, Liberty Homes, Deer Valley and Palm Harbor all remained unchanged. Drew Industries 26.88 +0.41 (+1.55%). Equity Lifestyle Properties 68.18 +1.17 (+1.75%). Louisiana Pacific Corp. 8.30 +0.26 (+3.23%). Nobility Homes 6.96 -0.08 (-1.14%). Patrick Industries 9.03 +0.18 (+2.03%). Skyline Corp. 5.91 +0.22 (+3.87%). Sun Communities 42.64 +0.76 (+1.81%). Third Avenue Value Fund (4-23) 44.90 -0.52 (-1.14%). UMH Properties 11.70 +0.19 (+1.65%). Universal Forest Product 35.79 +1.4 (+2.48%).
