Vermont_mfg_house_bennington_banner_com_tom_momberg__80_k___airtight_efficiencyFollowing up on a story MHProNews posted Sept. 20, 2013 regarding damage to 560 manufactured homes (MH) in Vermont by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB) is funding ten MH by the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation as part of the Manufactured Housing Innovation Project. The $80,000 manufactured homes feature an air source heat pump for cooling and heating, and vapor compression refrigeration that transfers heat to the inside or outside of a house as desired, according to benningtonbanner.com. Triple-glazed windows and spray foam insulation insure the house is airtight. Photovoltaic panels are also available for solar power. The project has received support from High Meadows fund and Efficiency Vermont. ##
