MHProNews.com has learned from fwbusiness.com that Elkhart, Indiana-based Drew Industries, Inc. is acquiring two nearby businesses for $48 million. Drew is shelling out $36 million for Innovative Design Solutions (IDS), a Troy, Michigan-based designer, developer and manufacturer of electronic systems. The company had sales of $19 million in 2013, of which $13 million were to Drew subsidiary Lippert Components. Thermoformed sheet-plastic product manufacturer Star Design LLC of Elkhart has agreed in principle to be acquired by Lippert for $12 million. Drew provides component parts for the manufactured housing industry.##
