Dow Nears Record; Drew and Patrick Move Up

While U. S. stocks closed mixed for the day, investors were enough pleased with corporate earnings reports to send the Dow within 200 points of its all time high. CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average nudged up +0.34 percent, +47.46 points, to end the day at 14,018.70. The Nasdaq slipped -0.17 percent, -5.52 points, to close at 3,186.49, while the S&P edged up 0.16 percent, +2.42, to end at 1,519.43. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite lost -0.15 percent to close at 1419.9. Most housing stocks we track closed up or even. Drew Industries gained the most of tracked stocks, moving up +2.21 percent, +0.82, to end the day at 37.92. Deer Valley fell the most of stocks we follow, dropping -2.00 percent, -0.01, to end the day at 0.64. Affiliated Managers Group 145.98 +0.41 (+0.29%). Cavco Industries 46.74 +0.83 (+1.81%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 147,125 +1,290. (+0.88%). Champion, Liberty Homes and Palm Harbor continued unchanged. Equity LifeStyle Properties 74.28 +0.63 (+0.86%). Louisiana Pacific Industries 21.45 +0.24 (+1.13%). Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 5.25. Patrick Industries, Inc. 15.49 +0.32 (+2.11%). Skyline Corp. 4.69 +0.03 (+0.64%). Sun Communities, Inc. 44.21 +0.61 + (1.40%).
