Dow Edges Down, Housing Stocks Mixed

Retail sales in June fell -0.5 percent from last month, resulting in a tepid day on Wall Street as all three indexes lost a little ground. CNNMoney tells us the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped -49.88 points, -0.39%, to close at 12,727.21. The Nasdaq fell -11.53 points to 2,896.94, while the S&P lost -3.14 points to 1,353.64. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite fell -1.48 percent to close at 1,004.8. Housing stocks we follow closed mixed or even. Deer Valley gained the most of tracked stocks, adding +2.56%, +0.02, to close at 0.80. Patrick Industries dropped the most of stocks we track, falling -2.94 percent, -0.43, to close at 14.21. Affiliated Managers Group 109.29 -0.79 (-0.72%). Cavco Industries 48.75 -0.79 (-1.59%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 125,937 -688.00 (-0.54%). Champion, Liberty Homes and Palm Harbor all remained unchanged. Drew Industries 27.89 -0.27 (-0.96%). Equity Lifestyle Properties 70.35 +0.17 (+0.24%). Louisiana Pacific Corp. 11.32 +0.14 (+1.25%). Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 5.45. Skyline Corp. 4.94 -0.14 (-2.76%). Sun Communities 46.11 +0.27 (+0.59%). Third Avenue Value Fund (7-13) 44.99 +0.59 (+1.33%).
