Dow Drops Big, Housing Stocks Mixed

Negative earnings reports from several big corporate hitters sent U.S. stocks reeling, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 243.36 points, -1.82 percent, to finish the day at 13,102.53. CNNMoney says the Nasdaq lost -0.88 percent, -26.50 points to close at 2,990.46, while the S&P fell -1.44 percent, -20.71 points to close at 1,413.11. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite dropped -1.35 percent to close at 1146. Housing stocks we track closed mixed or even. Universal Forest Products, Inc. gained the most of tracked stocks, +1.60 percent, +0.59, to close at 37.41. Patrick Industries fell the most of stocks we follow, -2.06%, -0.38, to end the day at 18.10. Affiliated Managers Group 124.17 -0.52 (-0.42%). Cavco Industries 46.32 +0.43 (+0.94%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 130,570 -2,039.00 (-1.54%). Champion, Liberty Homes, Deer Valley and Palm Harbor all remained unchanged. Drew Industries 31.31 -0.10 (-0.32%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 67.38 -0.10 (-0.15%). Louisiana Pacific Corp. 15.30 -0.16 (-1.03%). Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 5.50 for the third consecutive day. Skyline Corp 4.44 -0.06 (-1.33%). Sun Communities, Inc. 43.57 -0.18 (-0.41%).
