Condemned, Land Lease Community Looks like “Tornado hit it”

nbcnews-25flintmichigan-american-estates-mobile-home-park-posted-daily-business-news-mhpronews-com-Neighbors are frustrated on Flint, Michigan’s east side who say that enough isn’t being done to correct the blight left behind by the now condemned American Estates Mobile Home Park, NBC 25  tells MHProNews.

The American Estate Mobile Home Park is near the intersection of Leith and Dort Highway. “It looks like a tornado came through. Like somebody set a bomb off,” said Tiffany Gatica, who lives in that area.

The City of Flint said that in April the water was shut off to the “park,” which was then condemned in July. The city says they lack the resources to haul away the debris, and so must ‘work with’ the property owner to move towards a resolution.

According to court documents the company that owns American Estates filed for bankruptcy. NBC25 says efforts to reached out to the company’s attorney has not yet resulted in a reply.

As long time MHProNews  readers know, there can often be viable explanations for such occurrences – as disappointing as they are to a community – which the media may not fully grasp or pick up on.  We plan to monitor this story for further developments. ##
