Poll says most Americans still want to own, not rent

Man with home and money photo courtesty of NWITimesNWITimes states that 75% of people polled recently by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) prefer home ownership.  This is true even given perceived risks and market fluctuations. 95% of those who identified themselves as current home owners said they are happy with their decision to own a home.  The National Association of Realtors (NAR) points out that renting is not a good long term strategy for financial stability and independence. Both organizations point to the demand for and logic of ownership vs. renting, as better for people and the economy.
