The U.S. Stock Markets are closed today, in deference to the Jewish feast of Passover, and Good Friday.

For Jewish believers, chabad.org says: “Passover (Pesach) celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt.”  Matthew Silver, MHProNews’ Jewish assignments editor whimsically says, “Lotsa matzah!” for Passover.

The remembrance of Passover takes place beginning sunset of Monday, April 10, 2017, and ends nightfall of  Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

For some 2.2 billion Christians globally, Wikipedia says, “Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday…”

The management and team of MHProNews would like to extend to all the blessings of these sacred remembrances. ##
