UMH the only Tracked Stock that Gains

The continuing battle in Congress over the possible shutdown of the government kept investors in the background, leading to a decline in the three major indexes. CNNMoney reports the Dow dropped -49.71 points, -0.32 percent, to close at 15,401.38. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq fell -0.25 percent, -9.44 points to end today’s trading at 3,765.29, while the S&P lost -0.47 percent, -8.07 points, to close at 1,701.84. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite fell -0.91 percent to end today’s session at 1992.6. All housing stocks we track closed down or even except UMH Properties, Inc. which gained +1.85 percent, +0.18, to end the day at 9.93. Louisiana Pacific Corp. fell the most of tracked stocks, -2.89 percent, -0.52, to finish at 17.50. Affiliated Managers Group 184.20 -2.26 (-1.22%). Cavco Industries 57.98 -0.42 (-0.72%). Clayton Homes, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, as well as MH home-building, lending and other housing suppliers parent company Berkshire Hathaway 175,540 -1460.00 (-0.83%). Deer Valley remained unchanged at 0.65. Drew Industries 43.70 -0.15 (-0.34%). Equity LifeStyle Properties 35.25 -0.32 (-0.90%). Liberty Homes remained unchanged at 0.60. Nobility Homes remained unchanged at 9.00. Patrick Industries 29.85 -0.53 (-1.74%). Skyline Corp. 4.93 -0.05 (-1.00%). Sun Communities, Inc. 45.25 -0.27 (-0.59%). Third Avenue Value Fund (Sept. 20) 57.85 -0.39 (-0.67%). Universal Forest Products, Inc. 41.30 -0.076 (-0.18%).
