Production Growth Continues in July 2017

Washington, D.C., September 6, 2017 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), year-over-year manufactured housing industry production grew once again during July 2017. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,803 homes in July 2017, an 8.7% increase over the 5,335 HUD Code homes produced during July 2016. Cumulative industry production for 2017 now totals 52,405 homes, a 15.9% increase over the 45,204 HUD Code homes produced over the same period in 2016.

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through July 2017 — with cumulative, monthly, current year (2017) and prior year (2016) shipments per category as indicated — are:
