WisconsinRapidsTribune says Ferkey Builders in Saratoga, WI just needs approval from the Saratoga Town Board to build an over-50 modular housing community of 40 homes clustered around seven cul-de-sacs. In order for this and another project to go forward, ordinances dealing with lot sizes had to be amended, which the plan commission did. It’s now up to the town board to approve the changes. The new ordinance calls for each home to have one acre total of space. Ferkey’s plan is on 40 acres, with 30 acres of green space. MHProNews.com has learned on May 16, 2012 the town board will make its decision.

While MHProNews.com correctly cited the information from the original
report, we thank Ross for bringing the following correction to our
attention:
No such thing as a 50 and over community. That would be illegal. Fair
housing law say 55 and over. Also the deadline to convert is long over
so there is no market opportunity unless its new.
