Change Requested for Siting Multi-section Manufactured Homes

The Cottonport (Louisiana) Town Council is being asked to change the ordinance that governs the distance between a manufactured home (MH) and the property line, according to avoyellestoday.com. Keith Ducote says more people are buying multi-section homes and the current ordinance should be changed from 25 feet to 20 feet in order to fit onto homesites in communities. “If Cottonport doesn’t change the ordinance, it may force people to go outside the town limits to set up their homes, costing the town extra tax dollars on improved real estate,” he said. MHProNews has learned the council will introduce the item at its May 14 meeting, but it will require a public hearing before the ordinance can be altered. ##
