As marketwire reports, Baltimore-based Algeco Scotsman has inked a joint venture agreement with Beijing Chengdong International Modular Housing Company, Ltd. Under the brand name Algeco Chengdong, the collaboration will produce, lease and sell modular housing solutions in China, which has emerging needs for flexible, onsite, temporary accommodations in the energy, natural resource, industrial, commercial and major event sectors. While Algeco will hold the majority interest in the venture, Chengdong has solid relationships with major Chinese construction and engineering firms, and is the second largest modular space provider in China with a strong presence in Beijing. As MHProNews reported here Feb. 13, 2013, Algeco Scotsman manages over 340,000 modular units worldwide with operations in 37 countries.
