U.S. Firm Builds Concrete Modular Homes in Middle East

BusinessWire tells MHProNews.com RW’s middle east division, RW Middle East in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has constructed the first modular concrete villa in Samawah City in Iraq. RW shipped the formwork from Pennsylvania to southern Iraq where supervisors trained Iraqi workers to construct the dwelling using local materials and equipment. “Imagine assembling a secure, sustainable, villa in just one day, allowing for thousands to be built in half the time of traditional masonry construction. That’s exactly what we have done,” says Ahmed Halet of RW Middle East. Producing the modules on site cuts down delivery time, reduces damage that can result from shipping and unloading, and supports the local economy. A division of Rotondo Weirich Enterprises, Inc. of Lederach, PA, CEO Steve Weirich says the goal is to provide quality, affordable modular housing for southern Iraqis and expand into other areas in the Middle East.
