School District may add Modular Classrooms

While the number of jobs in Stamford, Connecticut has declined the past three years, enrollment in the schools, especially in the elementary and middle schools, has increased and is expected to increase in the near future, according to stamfordadvocate.com. Last year the school district hired 20 new teachers to keep up with the previous year’s growth, and the district requested $6 million to add 27 more teachers, counselors and social workers. While a new school building will be needed down the road, the school is considering adding modular classrooms to meet the demand of the increased enrollment, as MHProNews has learned.
