Russian Design Takes Factory-Built Housing to the Next Level

Factory-built housing could save the world. Russian architect Alexander Remizov has come up with a design that resembles a slinky and could house up to 10,000 people. As reported on CNN, the floating dome referred to as “The Ark,” is designed to be constructed from timber, steel and high-strength ETFE plastic, could be constructed quickly in a variety of environments and could be used for many purposes from apartments to offices and hotels. The design is suggested as a way to cope with an increasingly harsh environment and minimize human impact on the environment.
