Rezoning Request for Former Manufactured Housing Community Denied

Following a story MHProNews posted yesterday, June 25, concerning the former Hilltop manufactured housing community in State College, Penn. that a builder wants to develop into student housing, the College Township Council rejected the request. Despite a modified proposal from the developer, Ind.-based Trinitas Ventures, which offered a plan that included single-family, multifamily and student housing for the 27 acres, the council still denied the proposal. The original plan called for luxury student housing for up to 300. A number of local residents who attended the meeting would like to see the return of manufactured housing to the site, but the ordinance is out of date and would need to be revised. As statecollege.com reports, it is up to the planning commission to come up with a new path for the property.
