Resident Fuming over Fire Coverage

The TCTimes from Fenton, Michigan, just northwest of Detroit, tells MHProNews a resident of Tryone Township is upset that residents pay $150 a year for fire department services, while Sun Communities and another MHC each pay $250 annually for the same services for the entire communities. Scott Dietrich estimates there are 600 homes covered by the $250 yearly fee in one of the MHCs, and that each home pays only 42 cents a year. “We should have been getting $90,000 a year, a far cry from the $250 we’re charging. I don’t think $12.50 a month is going to kill anyone in there,” says Dietrich, speaking before the township town board. A Tyrone Township couple had to pay $1,333 for a fire run because they had not paid their annual fee.
