North Carolina gets HUD Code/Mod Home Tax Relief

brad-lovin-posted-on-mhpronews-comRick Robinson, General Counsel in Governmental Affairs at the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), congratulates Brad Lovin, Executive Director of the North Carolina Manufactured and Modular Homebuilders Association (NCMHA), on working to reduce the sales tax on manufactured and modular housing by half in NC. The amendment is attached as a subdivision to the budget the governor is expected to sign today or tomorrow, which goes into effect Sept. 1, 2014. MHProNews posted a story Dec. 27, 2013 concerning the rise in sales tax from $300 for a single-section to a flat 4.75 percent—which would be $1,982.50 in sales tax for a $40,600 manufactured home. ##
