New Ordinance to Allow Pre-owned Homes Movement

The Independent Mail states the Stephens County commissioners in Toccoa, Georgia, are altering an ordinance to allow pre-owned manufactured homes to be moved into the county, or within the county, based on health and safety, not age or appearance.  This change will put the county in line with state regulations.  Homes not being moved would not be affected by the proposal, nor would a standard be set based on the interior or exterior of the home.  They did agree a water-damaged floor would not be safe.  The revised ordinance will be discussed at a future meeting.

  1. Just an off-the-wall suggestion that perhaps the proper place to collect news for Stephens County would be a news outlet in – oh say – Stephens County?u00a0 (http://www.wnegradio.com) (www.thetoccoarecord.com)
