New Modular Clinic Rising in VA

TheFranklinNewsPost reports from Franklin County in southwestern Virginia Guy and Betty Beatty are donating $1 million to erect a new modular facility to house the Free Clinic of Franklin County, giving it a permanent home. Established in 1992, the clinic offers free and reduced cost medical services to people who otherwise would likely go without treatment. The 7,100 square-foot building will now be able to accommodate 5,000 patients annually, more than double the 2,200 treated in 2012. Guy Beatty, founder and chairman of The Beatty Companies in northern VA, and his wife are friends of Dr. Jennifer Braaten, president of Ferrum College in Rocky Mount, Va. As MHProNews reported April 29, 2011, Mod-U-Kraf built two dormitories for Ferrum College, and will construct the new home for the Free Clinic. Dr. Braaten says, “Our community will benefit for years to come through Guy’s desire to share his blessings with us. It is a great privilege for me to have worked with him to secure this tremendous gift for those in need of quality health care in Franklin County.”
