The Texas Association of Realtors reports not only did Texas see a rising inventory of homes for sale, but home sales in Q2 of 2014 increased 46.67 percent over the first quarter to 81,272 across the state. The median home price rose 5.87 percent from Q2 2013 to $187,300 for Q2 2014, while the average price increased 5.28 percent from the second quarter of last year to $246,209 for the comparable period this year., according to marketwatch.com. Real estate developer Taylor Consulting, Inc. (TAYO) CEO Scott Wheeler says, “The statewide housing shortage this year has prevented Texas from repeating the double-digit increases in home sales growth we saw last year. However, home sales haven’t slowed down from 2013, illustrating the extremely high demand for housing across the state.” MHProNews has learned TAYO intends to partner with modular housing manufacturers to meet the housing needs in West Texas as the energy exploration continues to attract workers. ##
