Modular Homes Meet Affordable Housing Needs in UK

In response to the housing crisis in Great Britain, Factory Homes in Hull, England has been working with New Charter Homes and developer Bowsall to site seven modular homes in northeast England’s Mossley, Manchester. The three bungalows and four detached homes were built in 45 days, replacing a former Homes for Heroes development constructed after WWII. Part of a pilot project to build more affordable housing, hulldailymail.co.uk tells MHProNews the new homes will be owned and managed by New Charter Homes. Sean Stafford of New Charter says, “ Affordable housing is in high demand and as the homes have been pre-built under factory conditions, they are not subject to the extreme weather conditions which can sometimes with regret delay our building programmes.” If the project is successful more homes may be forthcoming.
