Las Vegas, NV – April 27, 2011. At the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI)’s 2011 National Industry Awards in Las Vegas today, the honor for the best Production Manufactured Home of 1800 square feet or less went to Steven Lefler and Gary Brown of Modular Lifestyles, Inc. The Irvine, California, company manufactures homes that exceed the current 2011 California Title 24 Standard Construction by more than 15 percent. One of their Gold Star homes was one of five that won the 2010 Ojai Valley Green Home. The other four were site built homes. Their modular home produces 1200 watts each hour, resulting in an energy bill for the year of $15.26. In commenting on public hesitation about a home not being site built, Lefler says, “Does Toyota come to your house to build the car you order?”
Your comment “Steven Lefler and Gary Brown of Modular Lifestyles, Inc. The Irvine, California, company manufactures” is off base. THEY DO NOT MANUFACTURE ANYTHING. The home they displayed was manufactured by Cavco.nI give Lefler and Brown credit for working with Cavco to get this home designed and built as they wished, but please do not describe them as being manufacturers. Moreover this gives not credit to Cavco for their manufacturing efforts.
My apologies. You are correct, Cavco did make the home.
Matthew
Great looking website really.
