Modular Home for Canadian Armed Forces Base

MHProNews.com has learned from IntelligencerCanada Royal Homes Ltd. of Wingham, Ontario won the contract to supply the Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) at CFB Trenton with a two-story modular home. The 1,437 square foot dwelling will have three bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, an attached garage, and a fire suppression system using sprinklers. Derek Fulford of the CHFA says the agency is comparing the value of the modular home with a comparable stick-built home as the base considers the condition of the 456 homes in the residential area that were built in the 1940s and 1950s. “We are looking at replacing those units that can’t meet the current building standards when it comes to refurbishment,” says Fulford. The stick-built home will be constructed on the lot adjacent to the modular home.
